This is good news! I hope they are a little cheaper than the Mandalorian season 1 and 2 sets, but I’ll settle for just getting Andor on blu ray if they are not.
Far too little LEGO for the prices they are asking for. They look good, but I’d likely have more fun trying to build it out of existing LEGO I already own than buying these new sets.

Exactly this. So many Jedi survived that, if you look at ROTS, Order 66 feels meaningless. It removes any/all of the emotional impact it had in that movie.
Plus, the idea of a Jedi surviving Order 66 has become incredibly cliché to the point that it comes across as lazy writing. It seems as though every Star Wars TV/EU writer thought “a Jedi survives Order 66 story would be cool” without realizing that dozens of other writers had the exact same idea. It’s cheapening too, as it makes the idea of Obi-Wan and Yoda being the last remnants of the Jedi seem dubious. The Obi-Wan show was especially terrible about this, with the existence of an Underground Railroad for Jedi, and there are apparently so many survivors that there just happen to be two survivors on the same remote backwater planet (the other Jedi on Tatooine in Ep1.) It makes you wonder why the survivors didn’t team up to stage a coup to overthrow the Empire or something, since there evidently were enough of them to do so.

A group of Jedi come together to make a stand or try to take down Vader, or other upper Imperial hierarchy, or even to inform the general public of what has really occurred.
To make a “last stand” or even continue resisting the Emperor and his new Empire. Or simply as a “warning” story for why no other Jedi tried to band together afterwards.

Avoiding the OT legacy characters, or having them appear as weird CGI faces and not actually doing much, only helps that. Instead, too often we are often “told, not shown”, and not “show, don’t tell”. We are then expected to connect with what little setting this era have been given. None of it seems planned out very well, it comes off as ad-hoc, gimmicky, or lacking. Like Caston says in his OP: it and the OT heroes deserves so much more, and I agree with Channel when he says the writing for it sucks, which leads me to being somewhere between frustration and indifference for this New Republic era.
I think many of us feel similar, or are starting to feel this way, particularly on “told, not shown”, and not “show, don’t tell”.
So much that I’ve given up on it. No more Filoni & Favreau series or films for me. They just don’t appeal to me anymore, and I’m fed up of feeling frustrated and indifferent. Instead I’ll stick to Andor, Visions, Acolyte, Skeleton Crew, and The Dawn of the Jedi film. Rey’s NJO film too, given it is set past that ST era and is being made by new talents that will hopefully bring something fresh and different.
I like that positivity, and willing to give these non-F&F shows and films a fair crack. A little like Vladius’ separation example above. I still hope the Mandoverse does improve, I hoped it after Andor, where me and others naively thought the bar in Star Wars may have to be raised, but obviously wasn’t. But there really doesn’t appear to be any indication or willingness to improve or change things up, so I imagine that aspect of Star Wars, along with the current New Republic era, will continue along the disenchanted path it is already on.
I found it underwhelming. I remember before watching Revenge Of The Sith I reminded myself to go in with an open mind, not to anticipate anything, or have high expectations based on my disappointment with the previous two Prequel Trilogy films.
It still underwhelmed. Order 66 seemed an easy option to take to show the majority of Jedi falling, but the way it was done just left me cold. Seeing a number of Jedi I hadn’t seen much of before or really cared about, be cut down, didn’t click with me. The Jedi Temple scenes made little impact too (poor younglings! like the poor Tusken women and children in AOTC). It also seemed rushed and impactless, like ticking off boxes on a list to get through to the end the movie where they thought they needed to be, to somehow line things up with the Original Trilogy.
When I see clips of the Jedi Purge I just shrug. It doesn’t mean much. A bit like how I feel in much of modern Star Wars when I see many dead characters return to the screen, or people surviving lightsaber impalements, or the poor writing in making vague references but with no build up or pay off, or use of memberberries in place of a good story or plot arc.
The Purge should have been memorable. It should have had a deep emotional connection or feeling. But it felt as disappointing as many of the other aspects on the prequels. In my head canon, ROTS never happened. I fill in the blanks with my own beat on the the original ‘Vader has been luring and tricked the Jedi to their deaths while he pretended to still be one of them over a long time’ story, to the point where he and Kenobi fight at the volcano pit:

I prefer the 2003 Clone Wars MMP. Much more fun and entertaining to watch, and it didn’t screw up continuity and re-write history like the 2008 series often did.
I must be experiencing Star Wars fatigue (at least for brand-new content) right now. I have no interest whatsoever in this show, despite all signs pointing to it being technically good.
Really, I think the issue is just that all the new content is just too run-of-the-mill. I’d like them to make something imaginative for once.
I understand that fatigue, though for me I associate it more with Filoni and Favreau content. I love Andor and am hoping we’ll see Acolyte as being closer to that, than another meh Mandoverse or Kenobi type series.
Because this is set 50 years before TPM it shouldn’t have those overused and empty memberberries or needless fan service that F+F like showcase. And I’m hoping this will be something different all around, maybe bringing some of the better High Republic era feel from the books and comics with it.
Although I am probing just hoping a little too much! 😉

Rare Star Wars Jawa figure found in loft sells for £19,500

'An “exceptionally rare” Star Wars figure found in a loft has outstripped its estimate after attracting worldwide interest at auction.
The Jawa character, complete with vinyl cape, is considered the “holy grail” of 1970s Star Wars figures, according to auctioneer Jonathan Torode.
It was snapped up by a UK collector for £19,500 during the Hertfordshire sale.
“I feel honoured to have handled another rare part of Star Wars toy history,” Mr Torode said.
“The Jawa figure is still the absolute ultimate for Star Wars collectors.”
It was the second time in six months that Excalibur Auctions, of Kings Langley, was able to show off such a sought-after collectible.
In July, it sold an identical Jawa figure for £26,670, including commission charges, after it was found by the same owner among memorabilia packed away in boxes.
Each figure was estimated to attain £10,000 to £15,000.
The figure owner, who worked for Marvel UK between 1974 and 1979, received a range of gifts from the UK toy company Palitoy during the promotion of the Star Wars line in Marvel comics.
Only 10 to 15 examples of this type of figure were documented, Excalibur Auctions said, with the vinyl cape substituted for a cloth cape not long into production.’

I saw this in another thread, but thought it could appeal to many in here:
Literally any fan speculation about the Clone Wars is likely to be cooler than what Lucas actually came up with in 2002.
Like everyone else, I imagined some awesome galactic conflict with massive clone armies controlled by distant alien factions trying to overthrow the Republic, along with clone-based subterfuge and political intrigue (cloning of Senators or Jedi - with some darker elements like cloned Jedi going insane).
I did not imagine that the clones were boring CGI Stormtroopers created under bullshit circumstances for the Republic to use at the last minute to fight some equally boring CGI robots as part of an under-explained civil war, and that every single clone was actually Boba Fett’s dad.
Anyway, pre-Prequel ideas about the Clone Wars always fascinated me because while many of these ideas are traceable to pre-1999 EU publications, some of these ideas are actually examples of pre-Internet “memes”. These were orally-communicated “memes” whose origin is forever lost to time, yet are somehow consistently known by many people of a certain age group across multiple regions/countries. These memes were spread on playgrounds, fan gatherings, and mail-based fan publications, in a way similar to how stories and myths were spread in pre-literate cultures. Similar to childhood songs that somehow every kid of a certain age knew (“Jingle Bells, Batman Smells”), the idea that Obi Wan Kenobi was actually OB-1 the clone is a pre-Internet meme that was remarkably wide-spread before the Internet, and remains well known to this day. Every Star Wars fan in the 80s and 90s somehow “knew a guy” that told them about this theory. (Of course it turned out to be false, and I’m glad, because it’s stupid.)

And he makes clear that her return will honor prior tales, including the book in which the character apparently perished. “We don’t want to spoil anything, but want fans to know that any new storytelling with Ventress will align with the events of Star Wars: Dark Disciple.”
I guess we’ll have to wait and see. Although Lucasfilm says a lot about honoring canon or “prior tales”, but then often rips right through it shortly after.

If it was the quality of Season 1 of The Mandalorian then, yes. If more like later Mandoverse seasons, probably no.
I think a series with the focus on the NR would help, maybe by others than Filoni or Favreau. Or at least a series that focuses on the NR being well written and developed. I hope they do start to write that aspect better.
