Hi, I am looking for an edited version of the film “The Transformers: The Movie”. The edited version had a Star Wars like opening crawl after the kaleidoscope sequence at the beginning, Spike’s swear is muted, and at the end, the narrator states that “Optimus Prime will return.” The only home media release I know that has this specific version was the 1999 Rhino Home Video VHS release. All of the other releases are the original theatrical version.
Highest quality versions would be the SD broadcast rips, I believe?
Harmy made a reconstruction of the 1997 Special Edition version of A New Hope, and Team Negative 1 made a 4K upscale of a theater used 35mm Special Edition print of A New Hope, too.

So where can I watch this print at?
This print has been up there for months and months at this point.
I wonder what a typical price for a U.S. SE print is.
Yeah, that’s a question that I think about sometimes, too. My guess would be about $500 to $1,000 maybe, since the original print is more valuable than the Special Edition print.
Yeah, ok. Good point. Like you said, there are multiple prints out there that have been restored and posted online, such as Team Negative 1’s 4K77 Project. I didn’t know that there was damage on the print when I looked at the pictures. Thanks for your reply.
Hi guys, I recently was looking on eBay, and I found a 35mm print of A New Hope for sale. One thing I would like to mention is that the seller specified that this print is a version with the addition of the title “Episode IV, A New Hope”, but it doesn’t specify if it is a print that is the 1981 version or the 1997 Special Edition version. Here is the link if you want to check it out: https://www.ebay.com/itm/314164614181?hash=item4925ab9425:g:GK4AAOSwq~JjMzU7&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAA4Kq%2Fz%2BRbr6ZcKp1lRCSYeIV8W76y3VXsD1ZTLmdfNMTxDLJkb3HlpeU8WEx5MNyQ8IhVgmxWkz%2Fj559in1xbhj%2FUqJmJv2ux3r599Pn3OdlnTpMxHu0LDHvjqX%2FcRS2iH8nZBOdqHTMKEhJOVip2RbNQOj88NyZ842Ljt6Y1Z9mTt5l1MAWjJiSfh7EGN9rUp2NoXtpxGse66E6gsEiGL6byaqnMkIays9xsgwJ1K%2BjyGFzJxU9bEcIBvUeqVtHZOW4j8J0RAjHhMsZeRcy%2BkfDwMI2Ywcw4tGP%2BJyX2TkIj|tkp%3ABk9SR6SZztPYYg
Honestly, ESB’s Special Edition wasn’t horrible at all! A lot of the changes were actually good, such as actually seeing the Wampa creature, changing the walls in Cloud City, and getting Ian McDiarmid to portray the emperor. Overall, ESB was the only movie who’s Special Edition changes were good.
I really hope that this version can resurface on the internet again! That is great that we have the audio from this version, so we can at least tell the differences from this version from the final cut.
I hope that they do! That would be great if Disney would do that, considering that a lot of the Star Wars prints, (such as the lost 70mm print of The Empire Strikes Back, the IMAX print of Attack of the Clones, and the 1997 version of the Special Edition) have not been publicly released on any home media. But we all know that George Lucas will not let Disney release the original versions, so my guess it that it is unlikely that they will.
I have never posted my restorations anywhere. I just did the restorations, shared with a small number of people, and one of them posted it. So I don’t know the answer to your question.
Oh, ok. So if the other restorations get taken down, where can I find them then? All I know is that there are some clips of the restorations you did that were uploaded on YouTube.
I mean it was a free, publicly available copy of a copyrighted work. That’s illegal.
Yeah, that’s a good answer. But it was on Internet Archive though. My guess is that maybe Puggo took it down or it violated Community Guidelines.
Or Disney finally told the IA to take it down. Or the IA is upping their enforcement in light of their recent lawsuit issues.
I also forgot to mention that Puggo’s other 16mm preservations, such as Star Wars, and The Empire Strikes Back, are still up on Internet Archive though.

Yeah, that is also a pretty good theory, too. I might have to PM Puggo about it and ask him why it got taken down.

Hi guys, I noticed that Puggo’s 16mm preservation of Return of The Jedi got taken down on Internet Archive. Can anyone explain why? Here’s the link to it: https://archive.org/details/ROTJ16mm
