The point of the petition is to try and change his mind.

Unfortunately, many people found it necessary to post immature and irresponsible comments. You'd think people would know that insulting George Lucas is certainly not an effective way to get his attention and change his mind. Since petitiononline.com doesn't allow petition owners to edit or delete signatures, there was no way for us to fix the petition. It was decided that we should host our own petition right here so it could be properly moderated.

In order to confirm that each signature is genuine, we send a confirmation e-mail to the contributor. This helps ensure that each and every signature we get is from a separate individual. While it is possible for someone to submit multiple signatures using different e-mail addresses, we discourage that. Please don't do it. There are more than enough Star Wars fans out there to get the numbers up.

Of the information you submit, your name, city, state, and country will be available to the public on this site. Your e-mail address and IP address are kept private; they're available only to the administrators of this site and eventually George Lucas (or his representatives). We won't reveal your e-mail address to any other third parties.

Please understand that we've received many requests to add web sites to our petition. If we put everyone's site on it, the list would be huge. In order to keep the list manageable, we're focusing on sites that are related to DVD, entertainment, Star Wars--things of that nature. We'd love to accommodate everyone and are considering a separate page with a comprehensive list of all supporters, so send us your URL even if you're not one of the "big boys." We also ask that if you want your site on the petition, please use one of our banners to link to us. Pledging support and actually lending support are two different things.
