Literally perfect. Splice 'em in 😉
Literally perfect. Splice 'em in 😉
I don’t believe that’s any different than what I previously submitted? Which is fine, it just sounds like he needs to speak a bit faster which would allow all of that to fit.
This was omitted in Hal’s version and your last post: “choosing instead to follow our mother’s path.”
Any updates on this project?
Yeah, I think it needs a little work as well.
I still think this is a good one, we are leaving the Padme reference, and the “surrendered her saber to me” is just assumed at that point. And in the current “canon”, that actually is what happened. Not that it has any firm bearing on what Hal decides, but I still think it is awesome to include.
Luke: “She was quick to learn in our training. But Leia feared the hatred that consumed our father, choosing instead to follow our mother’s path. Despite losing everything and everyone, Leia always chose compassion over hatred. A thousand generations live in you now, but this is your fight. Let Leia’s legacy guide you on Exegol."
I love Boba Fett and have never minded the way he “went” out. Glad we got the show too.
Honestly, his scene in ROTJ just adds to the chaos that Luke started on the Sail Barge and I love it. Also helps to show that Boba is just a normal guy who can kick ass and not some almighty action hero like everyone likes to portray him.
Yep, dropped this past Monday. There were rumors of it dropping this month though.
Hey Hal, I know these edits are mostly on lockdown but figured I share. This could be a cool inclusion:
Anything beforehand ruins Luke entrance on Ahch-To.
It’s one of those “I wish Lucasfilm would have done it but we can assume it happened between movies” things.
MAYBE, some kind of throwaway line from Kylo to Rey, about ignoring Luke’s persistent attempts to bring him back to the light.
EDIT: Here would be the dialogue for the whole Anch-To scene:
Rey: “Master Skywalker!”
Luke: “What are you doing?”
Rey: “I saw myself on the dark throne. I won’t let it happen. I’m never leaving this place. I’m doing what you did.”
Luke: “I was wrong. It was fear that kept me here. What are you most afraid of?”
Rey: “Myself.”
Luke: “Because, you’re a Palpatine? Leia sensed it as she trained you.”
Rey: “She didn’t tell me. She still trained me.”
Luke: “Because she saw your spirit. Your heart. Rey, some things are stronger than blood. Confronting fear is the destiny of a Jedi. Your destiny. If you don’t face Palpatine, it will mean the end of the Jedi, and the war will be lost. There’s something my sister would want you to have.”
Rey: “Leia’s saber.”
Rey: “I can’t get there, I destroyed Ren’s ship.”
Luke: “You have everything you need.”
Rey: “Two were made.”
I wouldn’t mind adding a final Luke line after he lifts the X-Wing when Rey looks back at him smiling:
Luke: “We’ll always be with you.”
It just foreshadows the added ghosts on Exegol and then Tatooine all too well 😃
Luke: “She was quick to learn in our training. But Leia was afraid of succumbing to the same darkness that consumed our father, choosing instead to follow our mother’s path. Despite losing everything and everyone, Leia never wavered, and always chose compassion. A thousand generations live in you now, but this is your fight. Let Leia’s legacy guide you on Exegol.”
I threw @JarJar’s in ChatGPT with a prompt of “make this sound more natural” and then made some further tweaks. I think it reads a little better, but up to Hal!
EDIT: (to make it even shorter, if needed)
Luke: “She was quick to learn in our training. But Leia feared the hatred that consumed our father, choosing instead to follow our mother’s path. Despite losing everything and everyone, Leia always chose compassion. A thousand generations live in you now, but this is your fight. Let Leia’s legacy guide you on Exegol.”
That looks SO bad effect-wise. Blows my mind how people think stuff like this looks good and should be in a fanedit. Sticks out like a sore thumb which totally goes against everything in Hal’s edits. His edits are meant to be replacements for the original, and stuff like that is just laughably bad compared to the VFX work in this edit.
The “spy” line sounds perfectly read by the AI. I had a chuckle after listening to it.
How goes the progress on V3.0? Just downloaded ROTJ and it looks amazing. Curious to hear where Harmy is at with the V3.0 versions of SW and TESB!
Most are very easy to track down, except for FF:EE. I have the DVD, but that is in standard definition. I want that crisp HD.
It has been removed from HBO Max. I believe Amazon may have it, but not available in the USA:

“She was quick to learn in our training. But Leia felt she could better serve the galaxy through diplomacy, as our mother once did. In her life, Leia lost everything, and everyone, but she still chose to love. A thousand generations live in you now. We’ll always be with you, but this is your fight.”
Please don’t bring back the “both sabers” line! I like the concept we had because it is really the only time where there is a “passing of the torch” to Rey. Basically Luke saying, yeah Rey, we’ll still be around, but it’s your job to make the right choice now.
Also, I do quite like the new AI line that mentions their mother. Yes. It is fan service. But it would be the only time, Padme, a core character from the prequels is mentioned in any post-ROTS movies. It would suck to lose this, and this does feel like something that could have been in the original version of the film. The new line also describes Leia’s “canon” reason perfectly.
Luke: “What are you most afraid of?”
Rey: “Myself.”
Luke: "Because you’re a Palpatine? Leia sensed his power while she trained you.”
Rey: “She didn’t tell me… she still trained me.”
Luke: “Because she saw your spirt, your heart. Rey, some things are stronger than blood.”
Luke: “There’s something my sister would want you to have.”
Rey: “Leia’s saber…”
Luke: “She was quick to learn in our training… but Leia felt she could better serve the galaxy through diplomacy, as our mother once did. Leia was defined by her attachments, and throughout her life she lost everything, and everyone. But in the end, she still chose love. A thousand generations live in you now. Let Leia’s legacy be a guide through the darkness you face.”
Rey: “I don’t have the Wayfinder. I destroyed Ren’s ship!”
Luke: “You have everything you need.”
Agreed. That’s why I went a little different with mine. Gotta keep it fresh haha
I think they were trying to copy The Mando naming convention.
Thank the maker. Looks amazing. Cannot wait for the trilogy to be completed.
And cannot wait for that HD remake of ANH to replaced my upscaled DVD version 😉
Season 2 was about 60% filler, jus sayin
Please define filler for me?
Because nowadays it seems like a blanket term people use to apply to a show that they pretend that they like even though they only like the first, middle, and last episode of that show.
Lol… filler?
Can we drop that term please? This show is one of the most consistently written and fun Star Wars shows ever produced.
Since Disney was uber lazy with this series and just went with "Part 1, Part 2, etc.
What would you name the episodes?
EDIT: I got bored today and came up with…
It’s close, but not perfect just yet. It just isn’t flowing for some reason I don’t know why. How about?
“She was quick to learn in our training. But Leia feared the darkness that haunted our father. She surrendered her saber to me and chose to continue our mother’s compassionate work across the galaxy. Throughout her life, Leia lost everything, but she still chose love. A thousand generations live in you now. Let Leia’s legacy be your guide."
The current version clearly states WHY Leia decides to stop the Jedi Path, we are missing that in this new take.
And if you need it shorter to fit:
“She was quick to learn in our training. But Leia feared the darkness that haunted our father. She surrendered her saber to me and chose to continue our mother’s path. Throughout her life, Leia lost everything, but she still chose love. A thousand generations live in you now. Let Leia’s legacy be your guide."
Luke: “She was quick to learn in our training. But Leia feared the hatred that turned our father, she knew she could better serve the galaxy with compassion, as our mother once did. Throughout it all, Leia lost everything, and everyone, but she always chose love. A thousand generations live in you now. Rey, let Leia’s legacy be your guide through the darkness.
